Our 8th and 9th Grade Essay Contest is underway

Students in grades 8 and 9 across Greater New Orleans are invited to share their voices in our 10th Annual Essay Contest. Two winners will each receive $300 and present their essays at the Literary Jazz Brunch on February 21, 2026. This is a powerful chance to celebrate heritage, build confidence, and connect with published Black authors.
