Meet the World Image Solutions Announces Essay Contest Winners

Meet the World Image Solutions CEO Dr. Rhonda M. Lawson kicked off her latest episode of Horizons Author Lounge by revealing the winners of the highly anticipated Eighth and Ninth-Grade Essay Contest.

This year's ninth-grade winner was Akari Holland from Lackey High School in Faulkner, MD. The eighth-grade winner was Ava Belcher, from Unity Braxton Middle School in Manassas, VA, and the runner-up was Timiria Kirsch, from Picayune Junior High School in Picayune, MS. Each essay was related to Black History Month and was judged on creativity, neatness, and organization, earning the winners cash and other prizes.

In addition to their prizes, the winners will be honored Feb. 22 during Meet the World Image Solutions’ signature event, the 9th Annual Ivory and Cream Affair Literary Jazz Brunch. The event, which concludes the Black History Month Literary Weekend, will feature live music from Brencore Entertainment, Comedian Christopher Columbus as guest host, and authors from throughout the country. Guest speakers will be USA Today best-selling author and literary agent Naleighna Kai, and Dr. Regina Jennings, member of the original Black Panther of Self Defense.
