Award-winning author, leadership coach comes to Big Easy for Black History Month

 NEW ORLEANS — Award-winning author, leadership coach, and pastor Kevin Wayne Johnson will make his debut appearance as one of 14 featured authors at the 10th Annual Black History Month Literary Weekend, Feb. 19-21 in New Orleans.

A Richmond, VA native and founder of The Johnson Leadership Group LLC, Johnson’s acclaimed Leadership with a Servant’s Heart book series continues to draw national and international attention for its practical, values-centered approach to leadership—at work, at home, and in everyday life.

“Leadership with a Servant’s Heart helps us align what’s in our mind with what’s in our heart,” Johnson explains. “From the heart, we display empathy, compassion, respect, value, and care, and when those align, people want to follow you, not feel like they have to.”

Johnson’s appearance at BHMLW, hosted by Meet the World Image Solutions, comes during a milestone season of recognition and momentum. Most recently, his book, Your Role as a Leader in Your Family received the Distinguished Favorite Independent Press Award. To date, Johnson has completed 15 of 25 stops on his international book tour. At BHMLW, Johnson will participate in booksignings, a free writers’ workshop, and the signature Ivory and Cream Affair Literary Jazz Brunch.

BHMLW is a weekend of music, comedy, and books, solely focused on fostering literacy while celebrating African-American authors and businesses. Since its inception in New Orleans in 2017, the event has promoted more than 100 authors, impacted thousands of students, and contributed more than $6,000 in scholarships, awards, and book donations.
